About Me

A sketch on lined notebook paper shows a man with medium-length curly hair and holding a steaming mug of tea. He wears a mask with sharp eyes and a jagged smile; one half is black with white features, the other white with black features.

My name is Shadowhite, also known as Shadow, Shad (no relation), or SW for short. I was forged in the furnace of chaos known as the early 2000s. Given my closeness to this era—with the exception of Crazy Frog and 9/11, in that order—it should be of no great shock that its culture has left a mark upon my person; in particular, my position on Internet safety has yet to give way, hence my pen name. Everything else you may blame on Gamechap and Bertie.

I first took up the burden of a gamer with the original Xbox and DS as my first home and handheld consoles respectively, and remained a Nintendo gamer with a sprinkle of Xbox for most of my young life. The PlayStation line had an almost mystical air about it, with its heterodox grooves and curves, symmetrical joysticks, and rune-marked face buttons. Although these days, I am a proud member of the PC master race.

It was through my DSi web browser that I first encountered the wonders of the Internet, unsupervised. So many problems solved with a good walkthrough. Thence my curiosity brought me to secrets and Easter eggs. I had to know all about my favourite things, and I took no time to learn that knowledge ought be shared. When facts failed me, theories and rumours quelled my hunger, irrespective of quality. Where material lacked, I made my own.

In the past, I was highly cautious with my machinery. To my credit, this kept my devices working for many years longer than average, yet my slow steps left me unsatisfied. And so I wandered further and further afield until, in time, Microsoft's irksomeness reached a boiling point and I took my greatest plunge yet and installed Linux. What a feeling it gave me!

Aside from that, I take pleasure in reading classic novels; not only is the language of centuries past distinctly elegant to me, but seeing how the chain of works inspiring yet more works is delightfully insightful.

Weave my accumulation and duty to share thereof together, and you have this website's purpose: the latest in my line of projects to counter imbalances of knowledge, where I have something to say that hasn't been said. When I see a hole, I must fill it; ask your mother. I do hope what you find is of help.
